5. Biometric and Face Data Collection

5.1 What Data We Collect

Eduwrx collects facial image data when a user registers or performs a check-in/check-out through the Eduwrx mobile application. This facial image data is used solely for biometric face recognition to verify the identity of the user for attendance purposes.

5.2 How We Collect and Use Face Data

When you use the camera for registration or attendance, your device captures an image of your face. This image is transmitted securely via our API to Amazon Web Services (AWS) for processing using AWS Rekognition services. The data is used to compare your facial features with previously registered images to verify your identity.

5.3 Third-Party Sharing

We share your facial image data with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including AWS S3 for storage and AWS Rekognition for biometric matching. These third parties are bound by data protection practices consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

5.4 Data Storage and Retention

Facial image data and associated identifiers are stored in secure AWS S3 storage. This data is retained as long as the user account is active or until it is removed by the authorized school administrator. Users can request deletion of their account, including any associated biometric data, by contacting support at info@eduwrx.com.

5.5 Consent and User Rights

By using the Eduwrx app and enabling the camera for face recognition features, you consent to the collection, use, and storage of your facial image data as described above. You may contact us to revoke consent or request deletion of your data at any time.

5.6 Other Data Collected

The app may also collect name, ID number, attendance timestamps, and other account information to manage your attendance records.
